Hello my name is James and I just wanted to give you a brief look at how Jesus has transformed my life.
When I was growing up I was badly abused by my Father who was a chronic alcoholic. In school I craved the attention of other pupils, but the more I tried the more I felt rejected. This lead to solvent abuse, alcoholism, violence and finally heroin. I've lost count of the times I was arrested and hospitalised for overdoses and suicide attempts. Every time the drugs wore off the pain was still there and I hated myself.
One day I asked for help from a local pastor who told me that Jesus loved me even though I thought I didn't deserve it. I asked Jesus into my heart and to be my Lord and Saviour. He has changed me from the inside out. Six years I have now been free from alcohol, drugs and smoking. I know without Jesus and His Spirit working in me I would be dead today.
