Aims

  • Provide space for the young people to engage in thought provoking discussion, using scripture, God’s living Word. Bible passages are used in such a way that the youth can discover a variety of key principles within them.

  • Help the youth look at their own lives and how vital points from the Bible passages can be used personally.

  • Create a safe, secure environment where each of the youth are able to share opinions, ideas and personal experiences without feeling vulnerable to do so.

  • Allow time for God to work in them and time to acknowledge Him through prayer and praise.

Sundays Morning Sessions for Youth

The youth group meet every other week during the Sunday morning service. The session will be based around a theme and include; activities, interactive challenges, creative Bible study, discussions, time for each person to reflect on what God might be saying to them as individuals, and time of prayer where praying out loud will be encouraged. The youth leaders take responsibility to encourage and support the youth during these sessions.

Outside of The Sessions

The Youth Leaders will look to continue to support and care for the youth as members of the church as a whole. There may be times when a youth member may wish to talk through things raised during the sessions in more detail, or just want a familiar face to share where they are at and look to for support, guidance and encouragement. In line with the church’s safeguarding policy, during a Sunday morning, where possible, the youth leaders can make time for this.
